BOATING INFORMATION


  • Boating is permitted daily from sunrise to sunset (hours are subject to change without notice).
  • Boating activities include water skiing, fast and slow boating, sailing, sailboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding.
  • Two powerboat launch ramps are on the North Shore and two non-power launch ramps are on the South Shore.
  • From April 1 through September 30, the park uses an odd-even system that separates power boating/water skiing and personal watercraft (PWC) on different days of the week.
  • The speed zone is reserved on odd-number calendar days for personal watercraft (PWC).
  • The speed zone is reserved on even-number calendar days for power boating and water skiing.
  • Fast boating runs from 10:00 AM until one hour before sunset each day.
  • All boats are inspected before launching. Boaters must follow California boating laws and Title 17 of the Los Angeles County Code.

Mandatory inspections. All boats and non-motorized watercraft are inspected before launching.

Zero tolerance. Vessels must be 100% dry.

​Do not run water through your engine or motor before coming to the lake. If the boat is not completely dry, it will fail inspection and may not launch for up to 7 days.

Before You Head to the Ramp

Arrive with your boat already clean, drained, and dry. Pull the drain plug before transport and keep it out until after you leave the lake. Bring your current quagga mussel sticker if your boat is registered, and allow extra time for the mandatory inspection at the launch.

During the April through September season, check the calendar day before you plan to ski or ride a PWC. Odd-number days are reserved for personal watercraft. Even-number days are reserved for power boating and water skiing. Slow boating, sailing, and non-motorized craft follow separate rules listed in the PDF guides below.

For swim beach access from your boat, use the north-side landing and remember the cove is a 5 mph zone. Call the park office at 909-599-8411 or visit the About the Park page for the latest launch fees and closures.

DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO OUR LAKE!
California quagga mussel prevention sticker
Puddingstone Lake has remained Quagga and Zebra mussel-free through strict inspection standards.
PLEASE help us keep it that way!
  1. All boats entering the water are subject to quagga mussel inspection before launch.
  2. All registered boats must display a current quagga mussel sticker.
  3. You will not be allowed to launch if you have visited an infested lake and your boat or trailer still has standing water or damp areas.
  4. Launch may also be denied if your boat has not been professionally cleaned or has not been cleaned, drained, and dry for up to seven days, depending on the time of year.
Boating can be fun and safe. Always wear a life jacket.
Lifeguards patrol the lake to enforce rules for your safety and the safety of others.
